About Rustic Kitchen...
Co-owners Jim and Kathy Cafarelli opened the first Rustic Kitchen in Boston’s Historic Faneuil Hall Marketplace in 2001 and was quickly recognized for its unique atmosphere and a blend of daily fresh cuisine and signature hand made pasta.
Their commitment to excellence has earned them many local industry awards including Boston Magazines "Best New Restaurant" and Sante’ Magazines National award as “Best New England Bistro.
Partner & Executive Chef Tom Holloway's award winning cuisine is always seasonally inspired and locally fresh each day.
In 2006 Jim Cafarelli developed a unique broadcast television kitchen studio as part of his Boston restaurant and along with Alissa Bigelow, co-created and launched a live evening cooking show called "In the Kitchen" with Alissa Bigelow. Alissa hosted shows from October 2006 to August 2009 and is now pursuing other acting opportunities.
Executive Producer, Jim Cafarelli with his wife Kathy now produce “The Cooking Show” in Boston and in 2008 opened at Mohegan Sun @ Pocono Downs in Wilkes-Barre, PA and launched a second cooking show called “Cooking with Kate,” in its newest state of the art broadcast studio. To date Jim and Kathy have produced over 350 live cooking shows.
These cooking shows continue each week and have become one of the most coveted tickets in town.
Famed lighting designer Scott Ferriero brought in friends from Panasonic Broadcast and Philips Color Kinetics and incorporated cutting edge broadcast lighting and camera technology for both studios.
Today each studio offers a variety of live daily cooking shows, morning cooking classes, and has become a favorite venue for sales & marketing meetings that utilize the studio technology for their own presentations.
